Inquiry Learning
Immersion is the first stage-where the stage is set and an interest is build in the topic by being involved in a range of hands on experiences. The students become involved in observing and then collecting and sorting information.
Brainstorming is next -where the focus is on thinking about what they already know and on generating ideas.
What do I want to know? - students develop focus questions that will become the centre of the inquiry and also design various activities.
How will I find out? - at this stage they have to investigate and record their responses to questions and activities. Research is the focus at this stage.
Create It! - Now the students select a way of demonstrating what they have found out during their investigation.
Share It! - Here the students decide how best to share their learning with an audience and receive feedback in a positive and constructive environment.
Lift Off! - In this final stage the students reflect on their work and are introduced to looking at their work and to consider 'where to from here?'
